This study was to investigate the influence of sport event on the growth of sport area. Data was obtained from 403 spectators who watched Korea National Soccer Team match in the Chamsil main stadium. The results and conclusions were as follows; First, men and women have different opinions about that the World Cup will influence on the innovation and expansion of sport organization. Second, men and women have different consciousness about that the World Cup will influence on the expansion of sport facilities. Third, men and women have different opinions about that the World Cup will have affect on the improvement of international status in sport diplomacy. Fourth, there was a consciousness difference between above college graduate and below high school graduate about that the World Cup will influence on the expansion of sport facilities. Fifth, there was a consciousness difference between above college graduate and below high school graduate about that the World Cup will influence on the activation of sport for all. Sixth, there was a consciousness difference between upper and lower class about that the World Cup will influence on the innovation and expansion of sport organization. Seventh, there was a consciousness difference between upper and lower class about that the World Cup will influence on the promotion of fund-raising in national governing bodies. It is concluded, based on the results, that international sport events will positive influence not only on the development of sport area but also on the entire national development.
