The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of 8 week Resistance exercise followed by Cool-down exercise and Day time sleep on Muscle injury and growth marker, Isokinetic muscular strength and Body composition. Subjects were 29 male students in their 20s and divided into 3 groups, they are cool-down exercise+sleep group(CSG) of 10, cool-down exercise only group(CDG) of 10, and non of above group(CG) of 9. Resistance exercise was conducted for 60 minutes from 5 pm. and frequency was 4 times a week for 8 weeks. After Resistance exercise, CDG conducted walking on a treadmill for 10 minutes and stretching for 10 minutes. CSG took a sleep after Resistance exercise for 20 minutes. CG conducted non of cool-down exercise and sleep. ANCOVA of SPSS 18.0 was used for data processing. The result that body fat percentage was significantly lower in CSG than in CG shows that 20 minute day time sleep helps body fat reduction. By the result that Isokinetic muscular strength difference was not significant among groups, we can conclude that conducting only cool-down exercise and day time sleep is not sufficient for a muscular strength change. Muscle injury marker, CK was lower in CSG than in CDG and CG, LDH was lower in CSG than in CG, and muscle growht marker IGF-1 and Testosterone were higher in CSG than in CSG and CG. This result shows the effective change in muscle injury and growth marker after cool-down exercise and 20 minute day time sleep.
