The reasearch of modern Chinese history in Korea from 2012 and 2013 are summarized as follows. First, a number of paper tried to estimate the political power, Empress Dowager Cixi and quite a few studies on nationalism as a traditional theme in political history areas. Second, in cultual history area, focusing on cultural methodologies, the research about marine history, urban history, missionary, medicine field has increased. Meanwhile economical history research has attempted to try the role of modern economic system between pre-modern and contemporary economic system by emphasize with three key words, price, finance, merchants. Third, because of the 2012 is the 20th anniversary of Korea-China diplomatic relations, so there were many symposiums and papers related this subject matter. Forth, according as the East Asian studies books are published, the Chinese modern history researchers constantly tried to expanding spatiotemporal research areas in modern Chinese history In comparative perspective.
