The purpose of this study is to set up generally opinions of teachers who apply directly performance assessmenr in athletics, and to collect various informations for investigating of new assessment materials. Elementary school teachers who teach fourth, fifth, sixth grade students in Kyong-buk, Kyong-kido, and Incheon joined this performance application in athletic. Answer methods of surveys are constituted of five levels of Likert method to check self administration method by teachers The informations collected through verified question papers by Cronbach a=.659 are settled by SAS package(Window ver 6.11) First, most of elementary school teachers didn`t know well teaching method and making method of assessment materials in performance assessment. Second, it is boo difficult to conclude learner`s achievement levels, for learner`s learning activities are not estimated directly in athletics. So learner`s achievement levels through performance assessment are lacking of reliabilities. Third, creative physical activities and learners learning attitudes were not estimated through the performance assessment. Fourth, learner`s exercise skills, interests, and concerns were disregarded, for assessment materials were not made for teachers. Fifth, the results of performance assessment are necessary for term marks, but did not offer practical assessment results to parents. Sixth, the obstacle factors about performance assessment, teachers feeling, performance assessment materials are not proper assessment methods, analyzing information of learners are difficult, and new assessment materials are necessary so as to estimate learning activities in short time Seventh, teachers who have enough educational experience and special knowledges applied efficiently performance assessment to athletic instruction.
