The material texts for Korean textbook is selected from original texts and adjusted in order to achieve the standards of korean subject" learning goals So it is only methods, and has not to be a canon. Whereas, reading list is the collection of books in order to encourage learners into the reading and to put out in according to the cognitive and reading interest developments. Therefore it is deferent from their principles of texts’ selection between the material texts and reading list. Requisites for material texts of Korean subject should be proper to accomplish instructional objects, and be appropriate to developmental levels of learner. And it should have some moral lesson and cultural heritages. But reading list should consider the more interest to motivate learners to read and cognitive development of learner as reader. And it should be consisted of various types of reading list in order to address learners’ needs, for example discovering identity and refreshing oneself.
