I started this study in order to diagnose the value of Korean classical novels with educational concerns, and from the question that both students and teachers of Korean classical novels would not be satisfied in present situations. Korean classical novels are literary texts which can be approached as a materials having primary interests on the phenomenon of generation and augmentation of human beings. Surely these are results of biological concerns. So the cognitive interests of Korean classical novels had been restricted in some aspects such as “love affairs, business, maintaining of houses”. Moreover, even in those aspects, the motives tends to have been more limited into several affairs in the texts. I think the proceeding studies should be performed in this directions, and if we could make clear the position of classical novels in the whole of Korean classical texts, this would contribute to the solidation of future education of Korean classical novels.
