Caring for the elderly is no longer a familial issue; it has expanded to a social issue amid rapidly rising senior populations, which has led to a wide variety of services for the elderly. Thus, the role of Senior Care Workers became very significant, since they have to look after seniors instead of their family members. Thus, the work attitude of Senior Care Workers determines the quality of the services of looking after seniors. Nevertheless, the situations of Senior Care Workers, such as long working hours, low level of working conditions, and relatively low compensation, strongly suggest the possibility of their exhaustion, which indicates the status of being worn out physically and emotionally.
The purpose of this study is to holistically identify the exhaustion of Senior Care Workers engaged in telecommuting service, through data collected with in-depth interview and understand their exhaustion experience through a qualitative research method. After the analysis, measures to solve the exhaustion of Senior Care Workers and theoretical and practical meaning for establishing related systems were presented.
