The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between psychological need, participation satisfaction and adherence intension of high school students participating in dance. The subject was a population of 300 high school students during the period of time Mar. 1, 2013 to Apr. 24, 2013. The data on 240 students were used for actual analyses and data were processed with SPSS 18.0 for Window. The results of the analysis were as follows: First, by gender, male students were found to be more aware of psychological need while female students perceived the adherence intention more sensitively. by length of participation, those with experience less than 4 months turned out to feel self-confidence in psychological need highly while those with longer than 2 year-experience owned more sense of autonomy. depending on the dancing ability, those who have the highest extent of dancing ability were found to be most aware of self-confidence in psychological need and autonomy but those with the medium grade of dancing ability considered the relationship most important. Participation satisfaction was perceived most strongly by those with highest and medium grade of dancing ability while the adherence intension was felt as most essential by those with medium grade of dancing ability. in terms of times, those with 5-7 times of participation were most sensitive to psychological need and participation as well as adherence intension. Second, psychological need had positive effects on participation satisfaction. Third, participation satisfaction had positive effect on adherence intension. Forth, psychological need had positive effects on adherence intension.
