Jo Hai-il criticizes the society and describes moral heroes in his novels. He depicts the awakening of people and presents healthy endings. This paper critically reflects on these peculiarities of Jo Hai-il’s novels. On the basis of these peculiarities, the uppity moralism existed. Modern Equalization exists in the depth of the moralism. Moralists have the self-consciousness of the prophets and teachers. The moralism is associated with the belief of the progress and developmentalism. The moralism believes the existence of only one truth. So it gets changed to the logic of discrimination and exclusion easily. That is why the moraism is violent sometimes. Jo Hai-il reflects on the violence of the moralism in his late novels.
