Nowadays, most of people live in a multicultural society in which a wide range of races, languages, customs, ... exist together in the same area. In a multicultural society, all aspects of life need to be adjusted and adapted to meet various needs of many groups. Therefore, it is necessary to establish and develop a multicultural education. In the world, multicultural education has a quite long and complex history. Many related policies have been implemented and revised to meet the current demands. In Vietnam, multicultural education is also an indispensable trend which has been attracted the concern and participation of the Government as well many social classes It can be proved by the bilingual program for ethnic minority children. In conclusion, this paper explores this issue through 3 main parts:
(1) An overview of multicultural society and multicultural education: to find out the features of a multicultural society and the features of multicultural education.
(2) The dialectical relationship between multicultural society and multicultural education: with the description of the multicultural movement and benefits of multicultural education
(3) The development of multicultural education and its adaptation to current situation: through analysis of multicultural education application in the world and in Vietnam context
