New ways of doing business evolving in the information age area at the seismic centre of a new wave that forces the traditional systems to change in many areas of society. Diversification and complexation call for the systems to transform, which requires new forms of space. ‘H’Bank In-store branch space identity also reflects the change in workspace design triggered by the change in banking business. New trend in global banking system is focusing on using bank branches for active sales, not on transactions. Future bank also offers pleasurable environment for incoming customer. ‘H’ bank Module system, a basic unit for one on one consulting, has been developed to boost up sales function of bank branches and its whole space design. Also this flexible module arrangement forms lounge areas for incoming customers and provides comfortable and accessible place to relax in. As bank branches ? that used to focus on simple transactions of depositing and remitting ? are transformed into operational bases for selling contracts, a fundamental change in space became necessary. Since many functions have been transferred to on-line, the space for the traditional services of deposit, withdrawal and paying the public utility bills is reduced, while the space for selling contracts, handling credit card services, and giving advices to customers on asset management is being expanded. The new branch for "H" bank is created within the premise of a large shopping mart, focusing on its characteristics as a new retail bank where customers can use the banking services while enjoying their shopping. The goal was to create a space with a complex nature which offers a resting place for local community and hosts cultural and leisure activities while catering for those who visit for banking services. In order for this "MODULE SYSTEM’ is developed, consisting of spatial units designed for the basic function of consultation, which dominates the whole branch space.
