The recent trend of logistics demands for improved transport system of the containers including low cost as well as current state information inside containers such as temperature, humidity, shock and more valuable services. In this paper we develop an intelligent container system using emerging technologies such as RFID and wireless sensor networks which can recognize the change of the environment around the containers and improve the security level. The wireless ad-hoc networks are used to communicate with sensor nodes sensing temperature, humidity, and shock inside a container. Active RFID tag and reader are also used to detect anything abnormal happening to a container and add on an electronic seal(e-seal) function. Information gathered inside and outside a container is transmitted to the server through ZigBee modules and so the administrator is able to monitor efficiently the information of each container in the real time.
