Becoming larger, convergence, and high technology of R&D, it has been changed to adopt the Cyberinfrastructure which is the next-generation research environment. Korea has devised the establishment plan of a supporting center for utilizing the mass research facilities and their mass experiment data. The Mass Experiment Data Center supports data-intensive basic science researches with security of experiment data of mass research facilities which is difficult to be accessed and built.
This study analyzes economic effect of the center using cost-benefit analysis. Due to characteristics of the service, the benefit is calculated from the cost reduced by establishment of the center. This economic analysis is the first study to make possible to examine the value of the center quantitatively. It is expected to be a principal basis for direction of foundation and management of Korean Cyberinfrastructure
