This study was aimed to determind the effects of the Gyrotonic Expansion System and Lumbar Stabilization exercise on the lumbar isometric extension strength and pain relite of middle aged women with low back pain patients to the subjects was divided 21 patients with chronic low back patient into two groups - one group is 11 patients who conducted Gyrotonic exercise and the other is a HBEG group of 9 patients. After the different exercise application to the two groups, analysis was performed using the two-way repeated measures ANOVA to do a comparative analysis on the effect of the different exercise methods on lumbar expansion strength, stabilization and pain variation between groups and periods, and the results showed as follows: Regarding the change of lumbar extension strength by angle, extension strength appeared be improved at all angle (82.08% at 0°, 64.50% at 12°, 48.82% at 24°, 39.78% at 36°, 34.33%, at 48°, 28.10% at 60° and 24.72% at 72°) in the GXSG after exercise treatment and they showed a significant difference statistically. The HBEG also showed an increase 1.10% at 0°, 0.12% at 12°, 2.29% at 24°, 11.56% at 36°, 9.74% at 48°, 14.31% at 60° and 5.96% at 72° after exercise treatment and there was a significant difference at 60 degree but no statistically significant difference in the other angles. The ratio of lumbar flexion 72° and extension 0° angle GXSG showed a decrease of 42.89% and HBEG indicated a decrease of average 7.32%. Pain relife GXSG showed a decrease 54.29% and HBEG indicated a decrease 20.40% two groups showed a significant reduction.
