The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between the type of housing movement and residential satisfaction. This study is differentiated from the precedent research in the view point of categorizing residents by housing movement and analyzing the differences in residential satisfaction. To carry out this study, a survey was performed on residents in Daejeon. T-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis were conducted to find out the factors of residents’ satisfaction. The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, the movements for a better living environment had significantly a higher satisfaction, while those related to economic reason had the lowest in satisfaction. Secondly, the type of housing movement separated with internal reason showed a high satisfaction while that separated with external reason had a low satisfaction. Finally, the ‘financial condition’ had the biggest influence on the overall satisfaction of the living environment both in the case of internal and external reasons through multiple regression analysis.
The findings of this study show that the social environment as well as physical and economic aspects(environments) was the main factor on residential satisfaction.
