Korean social structure are changing into unbalanced component ratio of population with the rapid industrialization and urbanization based on economic growth.
In this context, contrary to health, medical treatment and welfare issues for the aged which have been dealt with as a foremost priority of social issues, the housing issue for the aged is expected to be one of most serious issue of society in the near future. Because the issue has been ranked as lowest priority in our society.
It brings about the result that in spite of the urgent necessity to increase housing supply especially for the aged, related regulations are not sufficient and, not well-organized to solve the problem.
In order to settle such issues, It is necessary that there are (1) integration of dual system of law ,that is, the law of welfare for the aged and the law of housing, (2) the application of sub-regulations related to the law of housing for the ratio of housing supply and supporting policy of governmental level, (3) various incentives for housing supply, (4) establishing the criteria on housing design for the aged and (5) relieving recruiting criterion for residents related with rules and regulations on housing supply of the aged.
Also, the supply of urban silver housing must be provided.
