This paper reexamined the origin of Jeongnimsa Temple"s name in Buyeo by studying Chinese"s literature and archeological specimens. Jeongnimsa Temple is one of the important temples located in Sabi Castle of the Baekje Kingdom and has precious value of historical material in understanding Buddhist history of Baekje"s Sabi age and castle towns. However, there has been a lot of controversy over the origin fo Jeongnimsa Temple"s name. This paper reexamined relevant literature and archeological specimens in order to find a clue to the problem. This paper focused on in-depth understanding of Jeongnimsa Temple by studying when Jeongnimsa Temple made an appearance located in Zhongshan, Jiankang Capital during Southern Dynasty and the nature of Jeongnimsa.
