The purpose of this study is to examine the configuration of a child in the early stage of the education of Modern Enlightenment.
There were two categories. One series was school - reading - arithmetic - writing - penmanship - classroom - playground - learning - recreation - exercise, another was meal - side dish - powdered red pepper - soy sauce - alcohol - appetizer dishes - water - drinking water boiled in a kettle where rice has been steamed - cold water - drinking table. The former was connected with the child learning the modern civilization, The latter was connected with the child working the housework. Two categories belonged to the people of the modern nation.
The childhood was regarded as the period to form a plan for one’s future in the straight idea of time. So the child’s learning was emphasized on the industry and the patience. It was made the grade of ranks as the learning contents for the childhood in the Korean subject
