In this paper, I looked through the achievements of internal Chinese Classical Drama researchers and reviewed the current state of the accumulated study of Chinese Classical Drama and arranged the history of it. Therefore this paper can be a foundation that can introspect the present situation of the study and anticipate the prospective future.
In order to do so, I collected and listed the published study achievements and analyzed characteristics of the studies into each period and genre. In chapter 2, I examined the historical trace of classical drama researchers and looked into the features of the books and research theses. In chapter 3, I periodically classified Classical Drama studies into three parts then, summarized distinctive characteristics and mentioned the achievements of the study in each genre based on a historical aspect in details. The valuation of the study achievements cannot be accorded with statistically proven figures.
However, this work which listed the study achievements into periods or genres is an important foundation of existing studies because it can make the study review the past works and make it better and richer.
