The main purpose of this paper is to design parking demand management strategies for enhancing subway choice probability in Daegu Metropolitan City. For fulfilling this purpose, at first, this paper critically reviews various parking demand management policies presently adopted in Daegu Metropolitan City. Furthermore, this paper analyzes various data on parking supply, parking operation, parking fare systems, parking regulations, and others, including survey data collected from citizens in Daegu Metropolitan City.
Based on various parking policy analyses and parking data, this paper suggests parking demand management strategies for enhancing subway choice probability in Daegu Metropolitan City. The policy suggestions include various strategies on parking supply and operation, parking fare systems, regulations and enforcement on illegal parking, and others. Especially, for designing the strategies, this paper attempts to find out parking policy tools inconsistent with mass transportation policies.
