For Im, Hwa, the space-time of the Korean Emancipation represented the period that the oppressively symbolic order of the Japanese imperialism was being disappeared and the symbolic order, newly imagined.
As a precondition for new order, Im, Hwa did examine himself to stand up as the new historical subject. The authenticity of Im, Hwa's self-examination was identified as the reflective subject became a practical and historical subject who gave everything he had to the new construction of history in order to fill up the Korean historical blank which had been interrupted by the Japanese imperialism during the oppression period. Im, Hwa during the emancipation period, therefore, suggests 'modem national ideology' that should be aimed at, with planning the new symbolic order of Korea.
After the emancipation, the pattern of national organization that Im, Hwa imagined has developed from the bourgeois democracy into people's democracy.
Im, Hwa presented the bourgeois democratic revolution that existed as the inner desire about the Japanese imperialism before the emancipation as the revolution theory for the modem nation-state construction after the emancipation. But the liquidation of remnants of Japanese colonialism and the abolition of the Japanese feudalism had not been accomplished, instead of new oppressive symbolic order had gained power. Under this condition of political change in South Korea, right after the emancipation, he presented the revolution theory of people's democracy m order to over-come the contradiction of American capitalism, that is, the new oppressive symbolic order. This revolution theory, based on the obvious awareness on the revolutionary subject and on the ideology of the working class as the ideology of all people, aims to 'modem national ideology'.
Im, Hwa's 'modem national ideology' can be regarded as the most advanced national ideology in that he had presented new symbolic order to overcome the contradiction of the capitalism during the new national-state construction after the emancipation.
