This paper is designed to discover and introduce research materials on Lee Gwan-Yong's life and philosophical thoughts who is Korean Philosopher and Journalist during the imperial Japanese occupation of Korean Peninsular. Lee Gwan-Yong got a Ph. D degree in Western Philosophy at the beginning as a Korean who studies abroad to foreign countries and as an enlightenment Intellectual, he started the active patriotic-enlightenment-movement through a Journalism. As an enlightenment Intellectual, he leaved a prominent achievement in Modern Korean History, but from the academic world the research about him is not active until recently. Because there is insufficient fundamental materials to study him. Learned a Western philosophy from foreign countries and as a first generation, he is the person who keeps the significant implication in order to understand Modern Korean Philosophy. He is not only a Philosopher, but also an Educator, a Journalist and a Leader of Independence Movement. And he is the rare person who kept the sense which provide for rapid changes of the international situation. When considering Lee Gwan-Yong's scope of activity, it has very important meaning to study a early Korean Modern Philosophy to find a fundamental materials about him and introducing it.
