This research was conducted with total 134 athletes of currently active athletic candidates for national representative player. The goal of the research was to analyze the relationships and effects of Stress and Self-confidence on Performance strategy, and Sports Stress Causes Questionnaire, Korean Sports Confidence Questionnaire (SSCQ), and Test of Performance Strategy (TOPS) were used as data collecting methods and the data was further analyzed based on the analysis of variance and the degree of confidence. For analyzing the differences of variables by Athletics field events, one-way ANOVA, for analyzing the relationships and effects between/ among variables, Correlation Analysis and Stepwise Multiple Regression were used. Results are follows: firstly, for the differences of the variables by Athletics field events, Short-distance running athletes and Jumping athletes showed lower at Financial Stress than Middle-distance running and Throwing athletes, and the Middle-distance running athletes showed lower at Self-talks of Performance strategy than those Short-distance running, Jumping and Throwing athletes. Secondly, as a result of correlation analysis, there were correlations between Stress and Performance strategy, and Self-confidence and Performance strategy respectively. Thirdly, to analyze the effectiveness by using Stepwise Multiple Regression, Stress on Fear of failing and Self-confidence on Coach’s leadership, and Physical and Emotional preparation factors showed considerable effects on Performance Strategy.
