Are Christian university chapels a place to worship God? Or is it simply another compulsory class? The two questions, “What must we do to worship God whole-heartedly?” and “What must we do to satisfy or keep student’s interest?” are other important dilemmas in this essay.
This essay focuses on these two issues. Consequently, the main purpose of the research is to develop a principle which is both right and practical for university chapels to follow. In order to do this, we need to closely study the necessity of looking into the relationship between worship and Christian education.
First, the essence and the function of Christian education and worship will be considered. Beyond this, the right understanding of Christian education as a worship will be examined. Second, the problems of required university chapels and the chapel’s focus on Christian education will be observed. Finally, the development of a guidance manual and syllabus and its implementation at An Yang University will be studied. The various ways Christian university chapels can provide Christian education will be considered.
