Information Systems(IS) collaboration between small-medium and large firms is considered to be an important phenomenon for most of industries. However, IS collaboration has been neglected for many local firms in Daegu Metropolitan City and Gyeongbuk Providence. Therefore, this study suggested the research model that empirically investigates the successful IS collaboration between small-medium and large firms in Daegu Metropolitan City and Gyeongbuk Providence. The research model incorporates three important elements along with six variables, such as technological factors(Standardization and System Integration), cognitive factors(Benefits and Cost Savings), and organizational readiness factors(IT Budgets and IT Knowledge) in order to explain their impact on intention to practice IT collaboration, which then leads to implementation of IT collaboration. A total of 179 data were collected using survey method to statistically validate the proposed model using variance-based structural equation modeling(SEM), PLS. Results supported the proposed research model: the new constructs and variables accounted for 72.9% of the variance found in intention to practice IT collaboration. The path coefficients between the constructs ranged from 0.395 to 0.557 also supporting the model.
