In Japan, road station plays a important role as a means of community revitalization. Road station is not only a resting place for travelers but also a place of urban and rural interchange. In this aspect, introduction of Japanese road station to underdeveloped region in Korea has a significant meaning. Through this facilities, rural community will be expected to revitalize. However, as an introduction, benchmarking regarding our domestic situation rather than just introduction is needed.
Various functions, security of funds, reflection of each regional unique content, and structure, and participation of local residents as the operating entity are the point to be considered in introduction. In Korean road station development, multi-complex facilities(culture, welfare, medical treatment, education etc.) for local residents are necessary to be added.
