After Korea's financial crisis in 1997, foreign capital has been abruptly inflowed to Korea. Foreign capital not only occupied over thirty percentages the share of stock market in Korea, but also foreigners take the initiative on the trading of stock market, particularly since it has showed the conspicuous tendency in financial market. Therefore synchronization that points local men to follow foreigners in stock trading has happened much and the fluctuation of price is now increasing. So inflow of foreign capital in local financial institute has been enhanced, foreigners take leading roles of shareholders in seven national banks of all eleven in Korea. Also inflow of foreign capital has been forced in the manufacture and service field.
Capital inflow enlargement and increasing occupation rate of foreigners in local market bring about much positive effects on the fixations of advanced financial structure and the introduction of advanced management and technology of foreigners on our economy, but it also brings about negative effects on un stability deepening in financial market, dependency enlargement on foreign capital and the weakening of influential power in governmental macroeconomic policy.
We should enhance positive effects on foreign capital and prevent before occurring negative effects in order to promote general effects on inflow of foreign capital.
In this paper I studied inflow situation on foreign capital and the background of inflow enlargement of foreign capital, and next analyzed the existing theory about foreign capital's influence on local economy and the existing situation on it.
