This paper begins with the present state of container ports in Japan and provides an overview of the reasons why Japan ports have been sharply decreased in world ranking regarding their handling amounts of container.
The paper also explore the policy as to the super hub port in Japan which strengthened the function of international port as hub of SCM for the effective import and export.
The some feature of changing Japan port policy is as follows;
firstly, Super hub port policy should be promoted not a single policy but hands with similar policies and relating business. secondly, selected port as super hub port should be supported sufficiently in terms of choice and concentration. lastly, the logistics costs in Japan port should be cut down to the 30% and the leed time also reduced in a day same as Singapore.
