This paper is to provide an analysis for an the Case study on the trade adjust-ment assistance for the sphere of agriculture & fisher with respect to Korea and USA. Especially this focuses on the trade adjustment assistance case about both Korea's agriculture assistance from FTA and USA's assistance for agriculture & fisher Industries harmed by imports from free trade.
Korea has provided assistance to the sphere of agriculture helping closed orchard, modernizing high quality and producing facility for agriculture competition, to say nothing of upbringing for gardening & livestock, cash payment against income loss and farm technique aid and so on.
The USA's assistance program for agriculture & fisher Industries targets TAA for technical assistance training to improve competitiveness and cash payment. Producers received the technical assistance program provided by USDA's CSREES through various means. Two-thirds of applicants received cash payments in fiscal years 2004 and 2005.
The paper also has provided criteria on the trade adjustment assistance of Korea & USA, implications on the case of the trade adjustment assistance for the sphere of agriculture & fisher, and that is, the suggestion of direction for improvements and developments on the trade adjustment assistance of Korea.
