The purpose of this study is to contribute to the development of the quota tariff as one of Korean flexible duties. This study reviewed preceding studies which focused on improvement of the quota tariff from standpoint of customs administrative political measures and a tariff rate policy and then considered history and status of the quota tariff, the required legal conditions and the procedures by EDI method for application of the quota tariff. Through above consideration this study pointed out that there is considerable discordance between the required legal conditions and the procedures by EDI method for application of the quota tariff and presented a revision that laws and ordinances regarding the quota tariff should be revised in order to import clearance procedures by EDI or internet process. The other point of this study is that one reduplicatively must apply for tariff rate based on certain use with the items recommended to apply the quota tariff with reservation which one must use them under earmark recommended This study presented a change that laws and ordinances regarding tariff rate based on certain use should be revised for the those items which are recommended to apply the quota tariff with reservation of certain use to be excluded in or to be stipulated clearly as the items of certain use which need not further supervise.
