The studies from the past to the present time about Oh Jung Hee’s novel have been by Feminism, but I think the peculiarity of her novel come into being on the structure of description. So, I made an analysis of the condition how the event unite the other one and how the narration be controlled.
I make clear the fact that her novel gives a reader a shock and unfamiliar emotion, cause of these two points, the limitation of information and the controlling narration. They can be come into being the method of story-telling, and it is the problem of the structure of description.
As a result, I reveal that her novel make a reader’s thinking about usual thing feels unusual and the past thing feels present things. I made clear these two points are the special features of the structure of description on Oh Jung Hee’s novel. On this point of view, her novel can summary the narrative of ‘the usual but unusual, the past but present’.
So, she is not a plain writer. She is the one of greatest writers in Korean literature history who created a new inner form. I reveal these facts by the novel 「A copper Mirror」.
