This paper discussed some issues of the problem and prospect of the research on Buddhist literature in Joseon dynasty. In Joseon dynasty there were abundant Buddhist literature writers and works, and many papers were accomplished during recent twenty years.
Considering the result of research papers on Joseon dynasty's Buddhist literature in written Chinese, the object of the research was attached too much inportance to some people. Their names are Cheonghedang Hyujeong (淸虛堂 休靜), Choeui Euisun(艸衣 意恂), Samyungdang Yujeong(四溟堂惟政), Heoeungdang Bowoo(虛應堂 普雨), Soyodang Taeneung(逍遙堂 太能), Hamheodang Gihwa(涵虛堂 己和), Jeonggwan Ilseon(靜觀 一禪), Pyunyangdang Eongi(鞭羊堂 彦機) Yeondam Yuil(蓮潭 有一), Baeggog Cheoneung(白谷 處能). Regarding this aspect, it is important to research many other writters who were not illuminated yet.
The other problem is researching on the writters who are not a monk. The writters studying Buddhism at their home also wrote plenty of poems. Especially it is very important that the fact of some Confucianist wrote Buddist poems.
The extension of the genre of work on research is very urgent problem. Until now, usually the poems were treated. But after now it is useful to treat proses. This work will allow us to estimate the hole aspect of Buddhist literature in Jeoseon dynasty.
