The purpose of this paper is to provide a right clause structure for English imperative constructions. Recently Cho (2009) proposed a clause structure for imperatives in English based on his "verbal predicates." We argue against it and instead propose that imperative force is posited in the functional head C, as argued for in Han (1999, 2001). We also argue that the V-feature of the verb is raised to Infl to Complementizer which encodes the imperative force-feature. In so doing, we try to explain questions like why the subject of imperatives appear inbetween negation and the verb, what Case the subject of imperatives would be assigned, and what is the nature of this imperative force-feature.
