This thesis is to analyze the text of Exodus 1:1-22 by the Structuralism. This Criticism is to study the text itself, seek the various meanings, but Historical Criticism is to scrutinize not text itself but background and root of text. In Structural Bible Method there are the discurcive structure, and the narrative structure. The structure is thesis, opposite, coherence. This structure includes first initial situation, transformation of middle step and last final drama. This process change is the transformation of manipulation, competence, performance, sanction. Through the two analysis, we have a knowledge of the meanings of text, at last come to new creational hermeneutics.
Now we study time, space, action in Exodus 1:1-22 and could recognize a theme of multiplying and being great of Israelites. Pharaoh of Egypt kills and persecutes Israel children, He does a opposite policy against Jehovah. but midwives had done a conscience of belief, courageous action, so miracle event of living Israel children happened. This story is that wisdom and awareness of midwives overcome Pharaoh offence, develop Israel people. we explained the basic doctrine of structuralism by Jacob, Joseph, Babel Tower episode. So through reading and reinterpretation of Bible text there is a useful application, coming onto creational Hermeneutics.
In conclusion, I hope this thesis to be helpful for a right Bible interpretation of Christian and Church Ethics. Especially this method to be great useful in a layman and readers.
