The purpose of this article is to investigate the modes of 'prosodie' (prosody), the phase and mechanism of consonant series that scatter irregularly in Kim so-wol's poems. The repetition of phonemes in Kim so-wol's poems are not reduced to any regular rhymes such as alliteration, internal rhyme and end rhyme. But it shows an irregular and aperiodic repetition, forms special consonant series, and represents the opposition and transference of the series, for example the opposition of [ㄹ] and [ㅁ-ㅊ] series, of [ㄹ] and [ㄱ-ㄲ], and the transference from [ㅅ-ㅆ] to [ㅇ-ㅎ] series, from [ㅈ] to [ㄷ] etc.
These represent the interactive relations of two central axises of openness and closeness, which keep Kim so-wol's poems under the control. This place where sound meets with sense in Kim so-wol's poems, constitutes the aesthetic characteristic of his poems. His poems construct the union of 'forme-sens' (form and sense), closely relating sound through image to sense. Finally this is to overcome the dichotomy between form and sense, at the same time to examine the limit and phase of new Rhythmology in modern free verse.
