This study is designed to investigate the level of judges' decision cognition of hockey players in junior-high school, high school, and college and to analyse the influence of the level of cognition on hockey players' psychological states and game. Selected 229 subjects responded to questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed by using ANOVA, regression analysis. The results of the study were as follows:
1. The result about the influence of hockey judges' decision cognition on athletes' psychological states and games in demographical variables:
1-1. There was useful difference on general cognition about judges' decision in education variable(p＜.05).
1-2. There was useful difference on fairness cognition about judges' decision in gender, education, and exercise experience variables(p<.05).
2. The result about influence of hockey players' cognition of judges' decision on psychological state and games was that the level of cognition had effects on athletes' psychological state and games. Furthermore, it showed useful difference(p＜.05).
According to the results of this study, Korean hockey players have different level of cognition about judges' decision depending on gender, education, and exercise experience. Hockey players maintain stable psychological state by cognizing the consistency of judges' decision and this stable psychological state positively affects on performance of games.
Hockey players generally have low level of cognition about judges' decision. Therefore, improved system selecting more competent judges and organized judges' training policy is needed in order to get respect and to improve the level of trust about judges and judges' decision.
