This is the paper on the rhetoric of Sabgyo-Yehaglog(?橋藝學錄) and Sabgyo-Jimoon(?橋識聞) written by An Seok-gyeong(安錫儆). Sabgyo-Yehaglog and Sabgyo-Jimoon has important meanings for rhetorical approach. In recent years the study of rhetoric is very active. Rhetoric concerns about various fields, that is language, advertisement, economics, pop culture and writings etc. Also in recent years the study of rhetoric emphasizes the rhetoric of discovery and pharagraphs. Sabgyo-Yehaglog and Sabgyo-Jimoon is the important material for studying classical rhetoric in premordern age in Korea.
According to An Seok-gyeong, a structure is the organic system which is operated by a rule. It is a essential characteristic of literature. Therefore Sabgyo-Yehaglog divides a work to several units and explains the relationship of several units. Sabgyo-Yehaglog takes a serious view of literary work's context. Also Sabgyo-Yehaglog concerns about words and phrases of literary works.
Sabgyo-Yehaglog is especially attracted by the rhetoric of pyeonjang(篇章) which deals with relations and meanings between paragraphs and paragraphs. Sabgyo-Yehaglog and Sabgyo-Jimoon attaches importance to structure of the literary work. It deals with new critic method or Pyongjeom(評點). Pyongjeom is the method which combines a work and literary criticism. It's method is very practical and analytic.
