The popular magazine, SAMCHUNLI published the first edition in 1929.6.12. And then, published 84 numbers until 1942.1.1 when the vol. 14 no.1 came out. It is long lived magazine throughout from 1930's to 1940's. And was beloved of all, not only masses but also intellectuals.
There are various articles in SAMCHUNLI, actual articles such as editorial, short articles such as gossip or story shot with humor, artistic and literary things such as writing or performance news, amusing readings such as interview of celebrity or enquete.
Meanwhile there are some articles that arouse interest to the messes such as sexual and indecent story. And there are light readings such as account of one´s trip or memoir too. SAMCHUNLI is the very magazine that consider for the tastes of not only popular but also advanced reader.
Among this various articles, this study discuss the editorials and articles about ‘CHINA’(‘Rising China’ after revolution) that was published in the early 1930's.
The leading writers of SAMCHUNLI would find a intellectual's role in their colonial reality. And SAMCHUNLI endeavored to impart intellectual's internal desire to the messes making confession indirectly.
‘Manchuria’ was specialized area from learning about ‘Rising China’. Especially the concern about Manchuria was growing up at that point of time When japan invaded Manchuria and the Nation of Manchuria was born.
Intellectuals of the Korean Peninsula approached towards this problem having concern, reflecting about Gan-do.
In other words, there are a lot of marks in the articles of SAMCHUNLI, that Intellectuals studied Manchuria and Gan-do's reality, discussed that problem, and worried about what to do.
