This study reviewed the trend and characteristics of law related articles found in magazines issued in Korea from the Daehan Imperial Kingdom to the end of Japanese Governance. The following are the characteristics of the articles.
First, in the magazines issued during the time of the Daehan Imperial Kingdom many articles emphasizing the importance and necessity of modern law were included. There were also some articles containing simple opinions regarding law studies, general law, international law, and civil law. Additionally, they published various articles about the discussion of intelligent people of the period and those addressing the necessity of human rights and party politics.
Second, although there were many kinds of civil magazines during japanese Governance, there were not many articles regarding law and many of them aimed to introduce details of the law that Chongdokbu legislated. There were not many articles that criticized the laws legislated by Chosun Chongdokbu. It is thought that the analysis of articles related to law in this period may help us to understand the social flow in the japanese Governance period from the perspective of law.
Third, Chosun Chongdokbu analyzed the trend of articles related to law published in the "Monthly Report of Chosun Chongdokbu, Chosun, Huibo," and "Chosun which were the institutional papers of the time. It is thought that these magazines would provide very useful materials to comprehend the political characteristics or legislation intention of the laws that Chongdokbu legislated.
If future studies analyze law related articles published in the magazines issued by government related organizations related to Chongdokbu, they could have more useful results.
