This study was executed to investigate the influence on Biochemical Bone Markers of Mid-aged women after the menopause, by measuring bone formation index-OC and ALPand bone absorption index -DPD and CTP-; after performing 12-week weight training as the method for incremental exercise intensity with 4-week units to women in their 50s after the menopause.
The subjects of this study, 16 women in their 50s after the menopause with no experience in periodical exercise program, whom submitted written consents of the experiment participation, were classified into Weight training group of 8 and Control group of 8. The one-time exercise time was the total of 60 to 70 minutes: 20 minutes of warming-up, 30 to 40 minutes of the main exercise, and 10-minute adjusting exercise; it was performed for the total of 12 weeks with the exercise frequency of 4 times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday). Two-way ANOVA with repeated measure was used for data management, and had the notice standard as p<.05.
As the result of the study, bone formation related factor, OC, showed noticeable difference of increasing to 22.47%; and ALP also showed noticeable difference of increasing to 16.73%, in Weight training group. DPD and CTP, the bone absorption factors, showed noticeable differences of each decreasing to 21.75% and 11.98%.
