There is debating whether the death penalty system is another violence by state power or it is a necessary evil for the public order in society. It is a very sensitive issue in the sense that it denies a person's life and dignity. It is ongoing issue which continues to cause political. ethical, and religious controversies. Some people insist that the death penalty should be used as a tool to restore a harmonizing balance to human society, and others people insist that it is too cruel of punishment regardless of the crime. Recently many states, civic, religious community's members are actively inaugurated of the abolishment of the death penalty system.
The purpose of this study is to explore the abolition of death penalty system based on Bible. This study is consist of two approach about death penalty system, Firstly, I have looked about the lawful background for death penalty system. Secondly, I reviewed on debating about its maintenance or abolition of death penalty system from the viewpoint of Bible. Thus it seems reasonable to improve certain problems stemming from the current death penalty and abolish the system gradually. By conclusion, I think and agree the abolishment of the death penalty. Love and forgiveness based on christian spirituality are stronger than hatred and vengeance. The abolition of death penalty system bring Love of Christ into christian forgiveness.
