As there are a lot of professional sports players, the sports management and marketing are needed in this field. Some players have succeeded in playing overseas so that people started to recognize about the role and effect of sports agency, management and marketing. Therefore, this study examined about recognition and role of domestic pro-sports agency and proposed the direction for activating sports agency. This study utilized the newspaper articles, literature and documents of 2007 about domestic, abroad sports agency. Through these materials, it was investigated that the role of agency are image, schedule, risk and property managements, contract negotiation, developing other income source, investments, legal advice, tax accounting, etc. In the case of necessity about agency, it was investigated in the studies of Shin, Jihoon (1999) and Lee, Sukyong(2001) that exclusive agency is urgently needed. According to the studies of Ju, Anna(2002) and Choi, Hwansuk(2003), the agency is needed more as the career of player is long. Based of the study of Shin, Jihoon(1999) the exclusive agency is needed for contract management, creating other income and schedule management. In the case of service that players want from the agency, it was appeared that contract management, creating other income, schedulemanagement and interpersonal relation in order. According to the study of Lee, Sukyong (2001), it was examined that expecting role factor of agency from players was salary negotiation as the highest. Schedule management, legal settlement, plan after retirement, increasing other income, social activity of broadcasting or event, transferpropulsion and property management were appeared in order. Based on the study of Choi, Hwansuk, it was found that players expect the abroad propulsion the most from the agency. Salary negotiation, transfer propulsion, legal settlement, schedule management, increasing other income, plan after retirement, social activity and property management were appeared in order. Therefore, the conclusion of this study is same as following. First, it was found that the exclusive agency and player's organization should be established systematically. Second, the agency should enforce its operation based on the consideration about age and career of each player. Third, it was examined that the agency should provide the legal, accounting and other professional service. Fourth, it was investigated that the agency should provide more reliable data and reasonable request on salary to the club. For this, the agency should have professional knowledge. Also, the agency should care about team work and do the best to have good image to the club and coach for the smooth operation.
