The main purpose of the paper is to analyse the regional characteristics of job creation and the pattern of regional inequalities over time. For this the quantitative aspects, qualitative aspects and secure aspects of the jobs created for the sixteen provincial regions were investigated respectively. And further the degree of unequal distribution of jobs among regions was investigated based, on the Gini Index, during 2000-2006. It was found that the degree of contribution of Kyunggido in creating jobs was dominant compared to that of Seoul and Incheon. It was also found that Daejeon, Kwangjoo and Chungnam were emerged as leading regions in job creation. Meanwhile, the achievement by the South-East regions (such as Busan, Ulsan, Taegu etc.) in creating jobs was much lower than expected in spite of their strong industrial base. It was found, based on the correlation analysis, that the vitality of regional economy has played a key role in creating jobs.
