This is to research of manufacturing period of Goryeo Celadon which is an 'water-dropper shaped turtle-dragon' found in the ruins of the Yuen Dynasty in Inner Mongolia. So far, Goryeo Celadon excavated in China has not been fit with the chronological study in Korea. As a result, there could be some works misjudging the date, about 100 years.
There is no doubt that this 'water-dropper shaped turtle-dragon' was made in Goryeo. Yet, while most of works such as 'Incense burners' as well as 'water-droppers' has been considered making in the 12th centuries', this artwork has been regarded in the late 13th centuries and the early 14th centuries. These 2 points of view would be deliberated in this paper that is.
Constructing the post in Ji-ning-lu of Inner Mongolia was necessary to connect with the central government as well as to deliver the goods to the central parts of Asia, which caused variety of celadon producing. This water-dropper could be one of them. Through the attack of the Red Scarves and the defence of the Ming Dynasty were back and forth in the mid and the late 14th centuries, it was assumed that most of artworks were destroyed that is the reason the works kept inside of the storage can be considered to be made in the early 14th centuries.
The fact that the production of Figurative-celadons still continuously done even until the late 13th centuries is estimated by the influence of Goryeo Celadon into the northern part of China throughout the relationship between Goryeo and the Yuen Dyansty according to the historical document as well as the new chronological study and the ruins of Goryeo and those of China. Furthermore, although this 'water-dropper shaped turtle-dragon' found in the storage of Ji-ning-lu was considered making 100 years earlier than the works of the same period of China, there has not been so much time gap each other. Further study at this research is expected when more studies on 'water-dropper shaped turtle-dragon' found in the storage of Ji-ning-lu would continue on and more works would be excavated.
