Nakdong-river waterway system confronts an environmental reverse function of natural environment’s destruction, damage and contamination by the land development, point-source and non-point source. Therefore, This study focuses on the environmental tourism development as a new paradigm being compatible with environment conservation and tourism development to conserve Nakdong-river waterway systems.
The purpose of an environmental tourism development of Nakdong-river waterway systems based on by a waterway and an overland route are as follows; In environmental side, The environmental tourism development can contribute to the self-purification and the function of restoration toward the water environment of Nakdong-river.
In economic side, This can promote the long term economic welfare to the community of development basin. In the social- cultural side, This can make the quality of life better through the guaranty of tourism opportunity. The characteristic of each waterway and overland route is as follows; 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12 routes are composed of natural-based resources among component parts of environmental tourist resources. 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11, 13 routes are composed of natural-based and cultural-based resources among component parts of environmental tourist resources.
