In order to clarify detailed current structures from Sori Island to Yokji Island, ADCP measurements were carried out in May, June and October in 2004 together with CTD measurements. We discussed the characteristics of tidal flows and calculated the volume transports of tidal flows on the vertical section between Sori Island And Yokji Island.
Across the section, the southward component of the volume transports averaged over 24.8 hours were dominant on the upper layer from 3m depth to 15m depth and its northward component were dominant on the lower layer from 20m to the bottom. There were net Southward volume transports near Sori Island and net northward volume transports near Yokji Island along the whole water column. The vertical profiles of temperature and salinity also show the analogous distributions of volume transports.
