The object of this study shall be what teachers who guide Wol-Wol-Ri Cheong Cheong, a folk dance in Korea, apply to education efficently through scientific and systematic research for the exercise intensity of Wol-Wol-Ri Cheong Cheong. For this purpose, this study investigate exercise-physiological change and exercise effect after checking out the exercise intensity of Wol-Wol-Ri Cheong Cheong through measuring heart rate(HR) and blood lactate rate during Wol-Wol-Ri Cheong Cheong dancing. Subjects were consisted of 16 to 17-aged a) girls' high school students of 2 groups. One is a experimental group (n=10), the other is the control group for comparison (n=10). The experiment covering 12 week period was consisted of Wol-Wol-Ri Cheong Cheong program made of 12 domains that each of them performs during 12 minutes. These done 36 minutes a day were performed three times a week. The results were as follow :
According to the result of this study, HR during Wol-Wol-Ri Cheong Cheong exercise showed 163.1±13.6 beats/min before exercise and showed 148.9±21.7 beats/min after exercise. This is exercise intensity over 60 to 80% of HRmax. The result prove to improve heart rate and heart-lung endurance. According to the change of weight and relative body fat, the experimental group after exercise showed the reduction of weight comparing with the control group. This prove a significantly difference from the change of relative body fat. That was, the result proved to be effective the reduction of weight and relative body fat.
In fact, the change of heart rate compared with rest period during this exercise showed significantly difference(p<.05). The change of blood lactate rate after exercise was more significant than before exercise. Also, this was significantly during 5 to 10 minutes for recovery. Although this program require the exercise intensity of high energy, this also showed positive effect in the view of fatigue recovery. These results mean that Wol-Wol-Ri Cheong Cheong program has a good effect the psychological response during dancing.
