Sport management programs are regarded as one of the most rapidly growing academic programs as the sport industry has developed tremendously in the United States. 'This phenomenon has realized in Korea as well. However, most of our sport management programs have not provided quality sport management curriculum for students to be competitive in the sport industry but just offered several sport management related classes. With this concern in mind, this study was initiated to provide specific ideas that can help develop sport management programs' curriculum by content analyzing curriculum standards provided by NASPE/NASSM In addition, this study attempted to provide useful opinions by current sport management program faculty in the United States by interviewing them via telephone and email. Accordingly, this study has found that NASPE/NASSM curriculum standards include 9 selected classes such as socio-cultural context of sport, management and leadership in sport, ethics in sport management, marketing in sport, legal aspect in sport, research in sport, financing in sport, and field experience in sport management These curriculum are specifically explained by mentioning on how and what curriculum contents are recently dealt in education. In conclusion, this study provides suggestions on what areas and skills should be prepared for sport management students to be recognized as competent experts in the sport industry.
