The purpose of this study was to compare isokinetic knee joint muscle strength between university alpine skiing players and general university students and to offer foundamental information on characteristics of thigh muscle strength. for university alpine skiing players and effective training method for general university students.
The subjects of this study were 10 university alpine skiing players and 10 general university students. Also, the experimental instruments used were Martin' s anthropometer(PKS-100, Japan), and isokinetic equipment(CYBEX NORM, USA).
To analyze the data, the statistical method used in this study were mean, standard deviation, and t-test using SPSS for Windows(Version 10.0.7).
Based on aforementioned research method, the results of this study are as follows.
1. The left and right protractor of uniform nature knee joint and maximum muscular strength in niversity alpine skiing players group was notably high(p<.01), and there was little difference in relative value per weight.
2. The average power of the left and right protractor and the uniform nature knee joint of flexor of niversity alpine skiing players group at 60 degrees per second was notably high (p<.01). However, though the average power of the left and right of protractor and the right of flexor was notably high at 180 deg per second (p<.05) there was little difference in the left flexor. In average power, elite group was higher than college club group. Especially, right extension(p<.05) and right flexion(p<.01) were significant high in 240° /sec.
3. The uniform nature left and right of protractor and muscular stamina extension knee joint in niversity alpine skiing players group was notably high (p<.05), but there was little diffrence between groups in muscular stamina of the left and right flexor.
On the muscle endurance ratio, there was no significant difference.
4. In peak torque for flexion/extension, there was no significant difference between university alpine skiing players group and general university students group.
