The purpose of this study is to help players give full play to their game competency by sex and technical level of swimming players, and time-to-even. This study selected 59 male and female players who participated in the championship tournament in Daegu and Gyeongbuk Province and the second swimming championship tournament. and used CSAI-2 questionnaires developed by Martens to measure cognitive anxiety, somatic anxiety and self-confidence.
After then, this study checked them by 5-step time-to-even paradigm including one-week, 2 days, a day, 2 hours and 30 minutes before play, which was applied by Jones, Swain and Cale.
The results are as follows:
1. There wasn't any significant difference between male and female players at the level of cognitive anxiety and somatic anxiety by sex. At self-confidence by sex, male players are superior to female players.
2. There wasn't any significant difference between superior players and inferior players at cognitive anxiety. somatic anxiety, and self-confidence by technical level.
3. The cognitive anxiety and somatic anxiety by time were increased to all the players including male and female players, superior and inferior players when the game was pressing. Otherwise the level of self-confidence was gradually reduced to female players and increased to male players when the game was pressing. There wasn't any difference between superior and inferior players.
In conclusion, a swimming race is not influenced by competitive anxiety.
